Exciting Day at Argonne National Laboratory with Chicago Women in HPC and Girl Scouts
Chicago Women in HPC had a very exciting day with the Girl Scouts exploring careers in STEM at Argonne National Laboratory.
The day was filled with enriching activities and engaging discussions. We had the unique opportunity to explain and tour the Aurora supercomputer and the visualization lab. The girls were fascinated by the cutting-edge technology and the immense capabilities of the supercomputer.
One of the highlights of the day was facilitating a neural network interactive exercise. In this activity, the girls became "nodes" in a supercomputer, working together to describe images with stunning accuracy. This hands-on experience not only educated them about neural networks but also demonstrated the power of teamwork and technology.
We are thrilled to have had the chance to inspire these young minds and introduce them to the exciting possibilities within the field of STEM.
