Pathways to HPC: Empowering Women in Leadership Roles in Tech
Abstract:
Radhika Reddy, Director of Software Development and Delivery at UIC's Technology Solutions, will speak about her path to her current position and the skills she's developed as a leader, including negotiation tactics and assertiveness techniques to empower women in leadership roles.
Bio:
Radhika is the Director of Software Development and Delivery at UIC’s Technology Solutions. She is responsible for positioning the Development and Delivery teams to modernize UIC’s IT tech stack, architect high-quality platforms, promote innovation, advocate data-informed decisions, build relationships with the broader UIC community through collaboration, and foster a developer community by providing technical mentorship. By establishing a strategy to align with UIC’s mission, her unit ensures code integrity of application development, secure data management, and streamline continuous deployment on all our platforms.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a Math minor at Benedictine University and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from DePaul University. She is a second-generation immigrant from India and currently lives in Downers Grove with her husband and two young boys, ages 11 and 4. She is passionate about any opportunity to help strengthen the community. Through her volunteer work with Girls Who Code, Code.org, and even as a lunch mom at her son’s school, she loves working with KG-12 kids to empower them with basic Computer Science skills.
